BMW M3 & M4 Parts — F80 F82 Upgrades & OEM Replacements

The BMW F80 M3 and F82 M4 (2014–2020) are powered by the S55 twin-turbo inline-6 — one of the most celebrated BMW performance engines ever built. Alpina Motorsports stocks OEM maintenance parts and performance upgrades for F80 M3 and F82 M4 owners across Canada.

S55 Engine Maintenance Parts

The S55 shares significant architecture with the N55 but adds a twin-scroll twin-turbo setup, upgraded rods, revised head, and different calibration. It requires the same NGK SILZKBR8D8S spark plugs (OEM 12120039634) and OEM-spec oil filters.

F80/F82 Visual & Performance Upgrades

  • Carbon fibre front bumper lip — OEM CSL-style
  • Carbon competition trunk spoiler
  • M Performance carbon mirror caps (F80/F82)
  • LED DRL upgrade sets — CSL yellow or white
  • Carbon kidney grilles — F30-pattern or M3-specific

S55 Spark Plug Service Guide

BMW specifies 60,000 km for spark plug replacement on the S55. Track-driven M3/M4 owners typically service at 30,000–40,000 km to prevent plug failure under high cylinder pressure. All six plugs should be replaced as a set — never replace one or two on an inline-6.

See our NGK vs OEM BMW spark plug guide for full details on what plug to use and why.

Why Buy M3/M4 Parts From Alpina Motorsports?

  • CAD pricing — M parts are expensive enough without USD conversion

  • Ships across Canada — no cross-border delays or import duties

F80/F82 Track and Street Use

Many F80 M3 and F82 M4 owners in Canada use their cars for both street driving and occasional track days. Track use accelerates wear on brake pads, spark plugs, and cooling components. Owners who track their cars should plan for a dedicated set of track brake pads, shortened spark plug intervals (30,000 km vs 60,000 km), and regular coolant checks. Our shop stocks track-appropriate maintenance components for the S55 at Canadian prices.

S55 Carbon Buildup

Like the N55, the S55 is a direct-injection engine subject to intake valve carbon buildup. BMW recommends walnut blasting at 80,000–100,000 km. Combined with a full spark plug replacement and valve cover gasket inspection, a 100,000 km service on an S55 is a meaningful investment — but one that keeps the engine performing at factory spec. See our walnut blasting guide for cost estimates across Canadian cities.

M3/M4 Canadian Winter Storage

Many M3 and M4 owners in Canada store their cars for winter. Before storage: change oil and filter (used oil contains acids), check battery and use a tender, apply a coat of wax, and ensure tires are properly inflated for cold storage. See our full BMW winter prep guide for a complete checklist.
